It has been just over a year since I added this page - "The Little Farm" - to my blog. But its that time of year again and "the little farm" is busy and bustling again.
I whole-heartedly believe Spring came around much faster this year that it did last year. It seems to have snuck up on me. I've only just begun planting seeds in the garden.
We are basing this years garden much off the one we grew last year. Not replanting what was unsuccessful, but planting plenty of what grew beautifully last year (plus a few new things). Tomatoes, bell peppers, beets, cabbage, mustard greens, cantaloupe, watermelon, potatoes, strawberries, green beans, and many kinds of herbs made the list this year. I will post pictures when they start to sprout.
We will be planting plenty of flowers around the house for decoration. I believe sunflowers, azaleas, wisteria, and a few others are on the list.
Also, we have had a new addition to our "little farm". A super sweet rabbit that somehow ended up with the name Barrack Obunny.

I'm pleased to say our gardens are coming along beautifully!
We've planted tomatoes, three kinds of peppers, Yellow onions, purple onions, okra, beets, carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, peas, cabbage, spinach and mustard greens. And the best part is that everything is sprouting! Some are coming up better than others but there is at least a few sprouts in every row.

Both this page and this area of our home is currently under construction. But in the future I hope to share stories and pictures of a future mini farm.
My family only lives on three acres of land. A lot of which is covered in dense trees. So there's not a lot of "farm land". But we are working with what we have.
A brand new raised bed vegetable garden is currently under construction and should have plants in it sometime this week. Hopefully in the future we will have laying hens, goats, and rabbits to add.
